Yes the much anticipated advanced remote play is finally here! You can now download it via Network Update on your PSP. Here is the full list of updates:
Support has been added to allow remote play over the internet in [Remote Play]
[RSS Channel Guide] has been added as a feature under [RSS Channel]
This list makes me think that firmware 3.50 was released just to fix remote play and this RSS guide was thrown in as a bonus. I am going to test it out today and would like to ask you to do the same. If there is anything you would like to share about this send me an email or just leave a comment.
A Japanese gaming magazine Famitsu reported a re-release of Metal Gear games for PS, PS2 and PSP to celebrate 20 years of MGS goodness. Konami also plans to release a box set of MGS, MGS2: Sons of Liberty, MGS3: Snake Eater and MGS Portable Ops all-in-1. I am one of the biggest fans of this franchise (as shown above-“my precious”) but new packaging is not going to make me buy the games I already own over again. Now, if the special addition re-releases included bonus features including new playable characters, new levels or even behind the scenes documentary then I would definitely buy it. As exciting as this is, I am personally looking forward to E3 and E for All to see if Konami is going to give out more info on MGS4 and possibly announce Portable Ops 2.
One of the most innovative PSP games I have seen this year is Crush. It is a puzzle/adventure/platformer game with a hint of Super Paper Mario. The reason I say so is because the whole purpose of this game is to flatten or “crush” the level to solve complex puzzles. The difference between this game and Super Paper Mario for the Wii is that you can flatten the level from all directions instead of flipping it sideways(if you played it then you know what I am talking about if not go play it, it is awesome). Anyway, here is a quick trailer of the game in all it’s glory. Enjoy!
If you feel confused and or have a strong pain in your brain after watching the video don’t be alarmed it will go away by itself!
Look for this game’s full review later in the week.
New domain: I created a new domain name for the blog, it is now www.theroomtechag.com. If you type the old domain name in the address bar it will redirect you to the new one so no worries there.
Quick note about the firmware update to the PSP. According to the guys on 1Up, it’s coming out this week and only then we will be able to use Remote Play through any wifi hotspot in the world. Pretty cool, I just hope the Sony will get it right this time.
On a different note, I would like to welcome Dejital into our staff. Also, if you have any hot news you want to share with the world send it to us at theroomtips@gmail.com
It seems that GameStop knows something we don’t, but that doesn’t surprise me at all. An estimated release date has been set for what to be the most anticipated RTS of 2008. According to their website Starcaft 2 is going to come out in October of 2008, but I wouldn’t be surprised if that date will be pushed back as we get closer to the its release. I am disappointed that it’s not going to come out this year but it’s is more important for Blizzard and us that the game succeeds and if it will take them until October 2008 to make it so then be it.
Update
Surprise, surprise. The release date was way off mark. Now they are saying that Starcraft 2 is coming out in December 2008. December! This wouldn’t be so bad if we had at least a demo to play with. My prediction that the game will come out in 2009. Hope I am wrong.
We have all been waiting to see what brand new secrets Nintendo will spill with their newly launched Super Smash Bros. Brawl site… Up until now, there has been absolutely nothing we haven’t seen already. However, today’s update launched a plethora of controversy and intrigue!
Pit has been officially upgraded. The Pit pictured on the left is the old one, and the new one on the right. There are a few subtle differences, but mainly it seems they’ve gone for the “less polygons” look that seems to be all the rage nowadays.
Be sure to keep your finger on the refresh button on Super Smash Bros website, you never know when they’ll roll out another major update such as this one.
Best Buy stores are now taking preorders for Grand Theft Auto 4, one of the most anticipated games to hit next-gen consoles near you sometime this October. For a mere $5 you can preorder this piece of action that is GTA4 before everyone else gets it. Pretty cool! Seriously though, this game is going to be sold out everywhere so I would use this opportunity and preorder before it’s too late. Think of this purchase as a safety net for your gaming pleasure.
I was watching Attack of the Show the other day and I wanted to say something. First of all Olivia is hot, second of all 66% were excited about the Starcraft 2 announcement and finally, how can you dis a game when it hasn’t been released yet? All we saw was a small glimpse of what’s to come (hopefully soon). Personally, I will be happy with the tree original races, but I think that Blizzard is hiding the fourth race under wraps for now. I also don’t think Starcraft 2 will be released during 2008 holiday season; it is going to happen this year! I am basing that statement on a abundance of polished videos and photos Blizzard have released into the “interwebs” so soon after the announcement. Now excuse me while I go play some Brood War.
I am not kidding when I say “all bases”. The new FIFA 08 set to release sometime this autumn will be playable on any old and next gen console including handhelds. Xbox 360, PlayStation 2, PlayStation Portable, Nintendo DS, PC, PlayStation 3, Wii, and cell phones will get their own game which begs a question, “Are they spreading the game way too thin?”. Cell phones, really? When are they going to learn that games and mobile phones do not mix (excluding maybe Tetris)? Sure you will buy it and play it for approximately 2 minutes and then you are going to forget about it. I think we should stand up for ourselves and stop buying crappy cell phone games and maybe then we will get a game worth playing on a mobile phone.
