It seems that GameStop knows something we don’t, but that doesn’t surprise me at all. An estimated release date has been set for what to be the most anticipated RTS of 2008. According to their website Starcaft 2 is going to come out in October of 2008, but I wouldn’t be surprised if that date will be pushed back as we get closer to the its release. I am disappointed that it’s not going to come out this year but it’s is more important for Blizzard and us that the game succeeds and if it will take them until October 2008 to make it so then be it.

Surprise, surprise. The release date was way off mark. Now they are saying that Starcraft 2 is coming out in December 2008. December! This wouldn’t be so bad if we had at least a demo to play with. My prediction that the game will come out in 2009. Hope I am wrong.

You do know gamestops release dates are often very very wrong. For example they had halo 3 coming out in nov. 2007 and its coming out in september.
Never use gamestop as a way to gague release dates.. They often don’t know what they’re talking about.

Well I have been playing all of Blizzards games since they all came out and I would say no one knows when the release date will be until they actualy put it on the shelves.
They will probably get it ready for Xmas Rush and cause a panic like the Sony Playstations. I can stand this manipulation of my expectations I feel like a dog jumping for the tasty sausage. But man o man when I get that sausage I will devoir it. I had better make sure I have lots of money in the bank cause I won’t be leaving my chair for months.

I know where you are coming from about he sausage, but it is official — Starcraft 2 is NOT coming gout this year. So no Xmas rush unfortunately. I know we all love to stay in lines for hours, but this year it is not going to be for Starcraft 2. MGS4, maybe?

gamestop is in alot of european companies where they reverse the month and the date so instead of being 10/1/08 it could be 1/10/08 which seems more likely. it looks like the game is pretty far along in development so that seems more plausible to me. i think if it were being released next october they would have waited longer to announce it

It seems logical to me. I was thinking that too, why announce a game that is not coming out this year or the next. I really hope that I will be able to enjoy Starcraft 2 early in 2008.

hmmm well seeing as how they have been working on this game for 4 years already it wouldn’t surprise me that they are almost done with it. im guessing that it will be released by xmas. the guy in the demo said that they just need to balancing of the races and units. well at least im hoping it will come out sooner than later.

Yeah they would of waited longer to advertise it if it wasnt going to be released late 2007 or early 2008. 1up.com said that there is this thing that Blizzard is hosting called “Blizzcon” and that people who pay 100$ bucks to go to it get to play multiplayer Starcraft 2. Unfortunately tickets are sold out already but atleast we know it is close to being done. I cant wait for the demo either.

Yeah we are all upset about this, but unfortunately no matter what we do it is not coming out this year. I think you are right though, they shouldn’t have premiered the game 1 year before its launch and make us wait. Those darn marketing schemes!

It seems to me its really close to coming out either xmas or jan. time area they are already selling preorders i didnt even know they were preordering yet untill i went and bought a game for my psp and they asked me if i wanted to preorder a copy of sc2… i was kinda shocked cause i hadnt heard anything recent on it.

Yeah preorders started a couple of months ago. Gamestop always starts the preorders way early. Good example is Halo 3. I remember they asked me if I wanted to reserve the game while the release date was a year away.

SC2 is going to be a crazy game, after reading all of your messages i relized what the are doing to all of us, they are making us want the game more. The will probably release it shortly after Xmas, and by that time fans will be on the edge of there seats waiting for it. By doing this the creators of SC2 are probably going to get more people to by it. This may not make sense to you, but i will put it in the best way that i can, the creators are probably thinking that if they release it right away, like the creators of the PS3 did, then there might be some problems with it, just like the PS3 and the cooling system. Tons of people got the PS3 right away, and had to return it and get there money back because the machine kept shutting down on them, because of over-heating. So i think that the SC2 creators are making sure EVERYTHING is right before the release the game, so that there wont be any glitches that will make the people return the game. I do love the PS3 though

Well I readed almost every single comenct that you guys post and… Someone said that Blizzard need their time to make StarCraft 2 and I totally agree with them… Waiting is one of the little things I hate the most… But I know it will be worth it… I’ve watched every single trailer/movie and other videos about StarCraft 2 and I don’t know about you guys but I’m really impressed with every single detail… But have you thought about the requirments… What sort of beast would your computer have to be to be able to keep it up… I overheard that Blizzard will try to make the requirmerments as low as possible but still… It looks like if some of us would like to play the game (like me) will have to upgread or buy a new pc(like me)… Because I’m pretty sure that SC will not run on a 512 ram and other sort-a-like systems… It’ll be just to low for the awesome game that everyone is talking about(including me)… And about the game I really like the Protoss… And the mother ship they’ve made… And its power is challenging the Thor’s power(in some weird way) but I think the mother ship will win of it has more capability of generation mana… But that woulnd’t be fear against the Terrans… The thing I like the most about StarCraft is the ballance… In most other games I don’t find much of a ballance as in the blizzard’s games… I don’t really like the release date (December 2008) but if I have to wait untill then to play SC2 I will becasue I will say it one more time… THE GAME IS WORTH WAITING THE TIME… Fast done work, shame for the creator In my language its said: Бързата работа, срам за майстора

I’ve seen the trailers/movies too and there’s only one thing to say: ITS WORTH THE WAITING , now the thing that I (for one) think about , like some of you said here , is the requierments… What can we expect from this game is only: the best thing , but i wouldn’t mind if they try not to strike the market with a game that requiers a badass computer… anyway with all these said , i hope we all get to play Star Craft II and as we all know till now: It Is Awesome… I dont think Blizzard ever disapointed in any game they made and i’m sure they will blast everyone with this new release, Have fun all and remember that it’s only a game
