I think this week’s update is bitter-sweet. The playstation store has been updated a couple of hours early(that’s a plus), secondly Super Stardust HD and Dynasty Warriors: GUNDAM demo are available for download. Also the newest GTA 4 trailer is up for you viewing pleasure. Like always we got 4 new movie trailers – Superbad, I Know Who Killed Me, The Invasion and License to Wed. That is all very nice, but where are the PS1 games, Sony? This week Japan got 19 (well technically) new games to enjoy, while we get nothing. Not cool Sony, not cool!
How about a remake of the original Defender by Midway? Sony has already published 5 classic Midway games on the Playstation Network so why not another one. Look at the success of a remake of Prince of Persia on Xbox live. That game looks beautiful and plays great for a sidescroller. Sony should do the same with Defender, but add cooperative mode and online multiplayer.

I know what you are thinking. Where are all the cool and new information that this blog offers? Well, I have been very busy blah, blah, blah. In any case, I will be changing the amount of posts I that we do. From now I will be posting once or twice a day with the most interesting stories I can find. Hopefully this will work better.
PSN has been updated today with a couple of puzzle games and a trailer for the upcoming movie Hot Rod. The puzzle games are $2.99 each and $5.99 for the whole collection. Although these games do not highlight PS3’s capabilities, they are still fun for those who like the genre. This store update is not as disappointing as last week’s, but is still pretty weak.
Blizzard is now selling tickets for their upcoming gamer’s day ,if I may. This event is being held in Anaheim Convention Center in California on August 3rd-4th. The tickets are 100 bucks a pop and you can order up to five per one household.
Man, I really need to move to California, only the coolest stuff happens there. Ohh yes, I forgot to mention that going to the convention will guarantee you a demo of the upcoming Starcraft 2 and a bunch of other cool blizz swag.

We all had our reasons for waiting in line by our local Best Buy to purchase the Playstation 3. Personally the only reason I got one was for MGS4 and Assasin’s Creed, but what were your reasons?
Yes, finally! The rumors were true and the redesign of the PSP is coming our way. It is not a PSP2 I might add, but an improvement over the current handheld. The new, slimmer PSP will have a new LCD display that will increase the battery life of the system up to four times. It will have a faster UMD drive to speed up the loading times we all complain about and will be shipped with 8 GB of internal flash memory. The buttons will be remade for a much better feel and sturdier control.
Sony is trying to decide if the camera should be built-in the new system, but because of the price of a DS Lite they probably won’t add it. It will cost around $170 and is said to come out sometime in August.
My thoughts
I think that Sony should make two models of the re-worked PSP one with no camera and the other one with a camera plus a couple of extra features. They should make a small amount of them, ship them and see what happens. If it is a success they should continue with the production of both models if not then stick to the cheaper one.
Thursdays are associated with many important events. England for example holds their elections on Thursdays, but for us PS3 owners it is associated with PSN. Every Thursday Sony releases more and more stuff on the PlayStation Network. Sometimes it can be awesome and sometimes it can be bad, but this, this just sucks. Heavenly Sword trailer, Stranglehold trailer, Transformers and a couple more videos are all that was released today. Ohh much thanks Sony, keep uploading a bunch of crap to your network.
I would really like to get my hands on of those reports on the amount of downloads they get. Pretty much everything that they gave to us today we either already saw or could have seen on the internet a week ago! If I want to watch trailers I will go to a movie theater. I can’t imagine anyone who would brag to his friends about trailers he has in his collection.
In the meantime, Japan gets a bunch of cool downloadable games like Guilty Gear and King of Fighters. I might have gotten this all wrong, but weren’t networks created for easy file access. So wtf! How freaking hard is it to give us a couple of cool PS1 games to play. What is this, prohibition of games for the US? It seems that Sony promised us gold, but all we got is shit coated in gold instead.
In celebration of Metal Gear’s anniversary Konami launched a new website with more details about the new re-releases of previous MGS games. They have also remixed the MGS4 trailer, but I think they left something out at the end of it. Take a look on the bottom:

Do you see anything missing here? Yes NO Playstation 3 logo! I only have 2 explanations to this. One, Hideo Kojima is messing with our heads(like always) or two, the rumors about MGS4 coming to Xbox 360 are true. All I can say about this dilemma right now is MGS4 needs to stay a PS3 exclusive or its future will look very dark.Very, very dark!
GameTrailers.com have gotten their hand on new gameplay videos of The Darkness, a soon to be released FPS for the Xbox 360 and the PS3. I can’t wait to play this game. It seems that with every new video released the game looks better and better.
